This is why, with the holidays just around the corner, I think it is necessary to take pause and pay attention to our personal wellness. Below, I have listed 3 very simple ways of making this holiday more enjoyable.

1)      Purge….  by Saying “No”

It is that time of year when being overwhelmed is a gross understatement. So much to juggle – that never-ending to do list, events to plan and yes, the people in our lives – we love them but especially during the holidays, it is only a matter of time before we touch a nerve! Yikes!! What to do? Choose to “purge”. Let the holidays work for you instead of feeling the opposite. Don’t over-commit – you can say “No.”

2)      Balance

Devote some “sacred” time to yourself every day. Take a walk, meditate, stretch, read something inspirational. Do something every day that centers you and motivates you in a positive way.

3)      Elevate

Get involved in one activity that has an element of service to others. It can be as simple as calling an elderly neighbor to say hello or something more involved like volunteering at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter. Such activities not only lift you up but those around you as well. It is a win-win for everyone and costs nothing!
